Gordon Lightfoot is a Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist who is a legendary giant in folk, folk-rock, and country music. He helped define the folk-pop sound of the 1960s and 1970s.  Gordon is often thought of as Canada's greatest songwriter and is known internationally as a folk-rock legend.

Among his biggest hits are: "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald", "Care Free Highway", "Sundown", "If You Could Read My Mind", and several more popular Gordon Lightfoot songs.

Recently at a gig someone requested songs by Gordon Lightfoot.  I have always cherished his music but had not yet included any of his songs in my repertoire.  This person mentioned that my voice would be ideal for his songs.  So, I began thinking about it and listening to his recordings.   There are several of Gordon’s songs which I would really like to do.  I decided to start with “If You Could Read My Mind”.  So, I have been working on my own arrangement of this song and am now currently performing it.  I may also add more of his songs to my repertiore over time.
