Went to the House of Blues in Vegas the other night and saw Carlos Santana Live. He has a residency at the House of Blues in Vegas much of the time. He performed all his hits with a smokin band for three hours. Lots of dynamite Latin percussion too. It was one of the better concerts I have attended; close enough to the stage we could see him up close. He had three percussionists: Karl Perazzo played Timbales and other percussion. Paoli Mejías played Congas and Carlos' wife, Cindy Blackman Santana played the drumset. The bass player, Benny Rietveld was so solid. David K Mathews played all the keyboard parts live. The band also had two male singers who took turns sing the leads to his hits, Andy Vargas and Ray Greene. Finally, in the background handling all the rhythm guitar chords was Tommy Anthony, a studio musician with a very impressive resume. Actually, every player in the band has an impressive resume. A well picked team, Carlos Santana is 75 and still going strong! To learn more about his band go to: https://www.santana.com/players-current-lineup/
