In early 2025, I began to perform occassionally at various Independent - Assisted Living and Memory care facilities around the Phoenix area.   Typically these types of performances are during their "Happy Hour" (mid afternoon) where senior residents gather in a common area for about an hour.  These audiences seem to respond mostly to popular songs from the 50s, 60s, and 70s.  There seems to be a real appreciation from many of these residents.  From a cognitive standpoint I think this music reaches them on some level and can stimulate memories, emotions, and even physical responses.  I feel that performing for these people is a bit of noble calling and symbiotic as well.
