Recently I attended the Phoenix Symphony. They performed a program called Revolution: Music of the Beatles: A Symphonic Experience, Matthew Kasper, conductor.
They had a Beatles tribute band center stage with a large string orchestra flanking them on the left and a wind ensemble to the right. They performed more than two dozen well known Beatles songs keeping true to the original arrangements and orchestrations ala George Martin’s production influence. It was also visually appealing with photos and videos in the background of the Fab Four in their heyday. They even had 60s mod lighting effects. It was all very well done.
As a final encore, the Phoenix Symphony excused themselves off the stage and allowed the boys to have some fun with a handful of some of their best early Beatles songs - pre George Martin era. People even got up and danced!
